Welcome to Literary Cobblestones

WE’RE BAAAAA—AAACK!

And by we, I mean me. Hi! My name is Tiffany (she/her), and this is my book blog.

Literary Cobblestones: A Reader’s Book Blog

Most likely, you’re new here. Yet, a few people may have come across the original version of the blog back in the day over on Wordpress. Don’t worry, it’s still there — Literary Cobblestones on Wordpress. (Those JK-appreciation posts didn’t age well, did they?) That space began as a passion project way back in 2015. I had just graduated from college and was trying to explore my writing abilities while simultaneously learning about SEO and digital marketing. Spoiler alert — it worked! I learned a lot from the blog and used it to launch my own career as a copywriter and digital marketing consultant.

I spent most of the last decade honing and expanding my skills in the marketing sphere. The majority of my career has been dedicated to freelancing, working with a variety of agencies in the U.S. As a result, I didn’t have ANY free time, and my beloved book blog was left untouched and forgotten. Until June 2023…

A New(ish) Reading Blog Enters the Chat

Earlier this year, my life was turned upside down in all the best ways. My wife was offered an amazing position in London, so we packed up the four-legged children (two dogs, three cats) and made the trek to the U.K. from Missouri. The swift and abrupt lifestyle change has given me a chance to revisit my favorite passion project, and now, I have the time and focus to give it new life.

A Book Blog for Thrillers, Mysteries, Horror, Sapphic and Witchy Vibes, & Reading Aesthetic

The original Literary Cobblestones didn’t have a fully realized direction. I simply wanted to combine my love of reading and writing, which led me to focus on quotes. While the posts featured a variety of genres and formats, gothic literature and horror really seemed to thrive with my small readership. I also enjoyed those blogs the most, resulting in a whole month dedicated to the genre.

So, when I began envisioning the rebirth of my book blog, I realized it should focus on the piece that I love: thrillers, mysteries, horror, gothic literature, and sapphic-themed reads. Also, witchy vibes will most definitely make an appearance as well, especially green, hedge, and forest witchcraft. Bonus points for queer and sapphic detectives living in a haunted house while solving crimes using magic.

While I still love quotes, I see them as more of an accent instead of the focal point. As such, the new posts will focus more on book reviews with my favorite quotes from the piece highlighted throughout. Additionally, book and reading aesthetic gives me nearly as much enjoyment as a five-star read, so I’ll be including visual-style blogs with images of my book collection, annotation, reading journal, and mood boards.

If any of this sounds good to you — and you’re not opposed to sarcasm and cursing, let’s be reading pals! In addition to following along on the blog, join me on Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube for some good chats and general bookish fun. I can’t wait to explore the evolved world of bookworms on BookTok and Bookstagram as a book blogger. :)
